LOUISA CAMPBELL’S experiences as a Mental Health Nurse and psychiatric patient come to life in her new collection The Ward, where people with catatonia, schizophrenia, depression, paranoia, mania, anorexia and alcoholism speak out from the pages, with the nurses trying to care for them. The Ward is a Poetry Book Society recommendation.
JOHN O’DONOGHUE’S memoir Sectioned: A Life Interrupted won MIND Book of the Year in 2010; and his latest book, The King from the Water, tells linked short stories set during childhood summer holidays in Ireland. John O’Donoghue was Chair of Survivors’ Poetry 2000-2005 and teaches Creative Writing at the University of Brighton.
CROSSING THE LINE are Martin Heys (guitar, harmonicas, vocals), Martin Kennard(bass, fiddle, accordion, ukulele, harmonicas, vocals) and Nick Manley (mandolin, guitar, vocals). Expect an eclectic mix of Americana, blue-grass, folk and blues.
